Dear Mister Plant,

Thank you for your letter of 3rd June regarding the fowl bones from Watom Island. I am still trying to track down where they are; at last report they had been sent, inadvertently, from Dunedin to Auckland. I am now trying to get them back to Sydney, in which case I can quickly check them against Finsterbusch’s views. I will let you know what happens, but first we must get the bones back.
